Daily Lane Closures on New Circle Road Set for Pothole Repairs Oct. 14-16

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Motorists on New Circle Road (KY 4) in Fayette County should expect daily lane closures from Oct. 14 through Oct. 16 while crews make bridge deck pothole repairs, according to a traffic advisory issued Oct. 9 by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Work is scheduled daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting. The right, or slow, lane will be closed at a different location each day:

On Wednesday, Oct. 14, the closure will be on the westbound inner loop near mile point 17.6 at the Tates Creek Road overpass.

On Thursday, Oct. 15, the westbound inner loop will be closed near mile point 2 at the Harrodsburg Road overpass.

On Friday, Oct. 16, the closure will shift to the eastbound outer loop near mile point 1.4 at the Clays Mill Road overpass.

New Circle Road is the beltway that encircles Lexington, carrying heavy commuter and through traffic around the city. The cabinet’s District 7 office, which oversees transportation projects in 12 counties including Fayette, issued the advisory.

The cabinet urged drivers to use caution, reduce their speed and watch for workers and equipment in the work zones. Traffic updates and road conditions are available at GoKY.ky.gov.

The cabinet said all work and closures are tentative and subject to change because of weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
