Governor Beshear unveiled a new marketing campaign at Keeneland Tuesday called “Our New Kentucky Home.” He said it will include a new website for the Cabinet for Economic Development, testimonials from Kentuckians, digital assets, new graphics, messaging and much more. Joining him were officials from around the state, including Johnson County Judge-Executive Mark McKenzie.

“We’re excited, because every day, our goal is to improve the quality of life of our residents and have a focused effort to boost tourism and create an inviting an inviting environment for businesses residents and visitors will help us accomplish our goal of that overall improved quality of life,” McKenzie said.

The governor asked Kentuckians to post their own positive thoughts and images, with winning submissions earning a free weekend at a state park each month through April. He also said Our New Kentucky Home won’t require new spending.

“We’re able to do this within our current budgets, within the two cabinets, but it’s aligning how we’re spending money. It’s aligning how we’re talking about ourselves in in marketing campaigns, to where a marketing campaign for tourism may also catch the eye of someone looking to locate their business, and that you see both.”

Beshear said Our New Kentucky Home will promote tourism and attract much-needed new workers.
