Kentucky Voices for Health‘s annual meeting on Dec. 10 will be dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Kentuckians. The meeting will be held at the Griffin Gate Marriott in Lexington from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
KVH is a coalition of individuals and organizations working to improve the health of all Kentuckians, according to its website.
Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman will participate in the opening remarks along with Dr. Sheila Schuster, board chair of KVH.
The meeting will include an immunization clinic, updates from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, a roundtable discussion about how Kynect, the state’s online insurance marketplace and state benefit program, fosters better health outcomes and civic engagement, a session on maternal health policies and an afternoon legislative panel, titled “Advancing Policies for a Healthier Kentucky.”
Members of the legislative panel will be Sen. Amanda Mays Bledsoe, R-Lexington, and Representatives Derek Lewis, R-London, Lindsey Burke, D-Lexington, Michael Meredith, R-Oakland, and Rep. Keturah Herron, D-Louisville. Herron is also the senator-elect for Senate District 35.
All sessions will count toward continuing education requirements for Kentucky’s certified community health workers and social workers. KVH says it will also work with professionals who are able to self-report their continuing education requirements.
KVH has a variety of tickets available. Tickets are $60, with a reduced rate of $30 for KVH members, students, CHWs, Kynectors and other community professionals. If cost is a barrier, please contact KVH for financial assistance. Click here to see the full agenda and to register.
