Get free or discounted Uber rides when you sign up for Wildcab Vouchers

LEXINGTON, KY (Aug. 26, 2025) – Get free or discounted Uber rides this semester. University of Kentucky students are eligible to participate in the free Wildcab Vouchers program, made possible by a partnership between UK Transportation Services, the UK Student Government Association and Uber.

Wildcab Vouchers provides students with $10 vouchers for up to 10 rides per semester. Vouchers are valid Thursday through Sunday evenings between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for rides anywhere within Fayette County.

Students are responsible for any amount over the initial $10 when redeeming a ride voucher; however, many rides within the service area are $10 or less, in which case rides will be essentially free to the student.

Students also have the option to redeem a voucher on a ride or save it for a future trip. Tips for drivers are extra and are the financial responsibility of the student. Additional voucher terms and conditions may apply upon redemption.

Sign up for this program today. Vouchers will be available immediately and will be added to students’ Uber account wallets for use during program service hours. Vouchers expire at the end of each semester, but students can sign up for the program at any time during the semester.

“Signing up for Wildcab Vouchers is even easier this semester,” said James Hutchins, associate director of UK Transportation Services. “This collaboration between our office and Uber has been so successful since it was first implemented, and demand for Wildcab Vouchers grows every year. During the spring 2025 semester, students took 13,546 trips using a voucher and we hope to exceed that number this semester.”

Wildcab Vouchers leverages Uber’s vast network of drivers to ensure reliable transportation is available to students when it’s need it the most. For details about the program and to sign up for this free student benefit, visit transportation.uky.edu/wildcab-vouchers
