Gorton taps federal funds for new Distillery District parking lot

Lexington, Ky — Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton announced July 11 that the city would use $195,000 in federal funds to pave a new parking lot at the intersection of Manchester Street and Forbes Road, in the Distillery District.
The city had previously purchased the parcel for the Town Branch Trail, but ended up having the property “left over,” Gorton said.
According to CivicLex, the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG) has an annual budget of $719,218,928. Gorton’s proposed Fiscal Year 2023 budget is $894,526,879.
