Lexington man busted after daylong search — escaped while handcuffed this morning

Lexington, KY–Christian Pierce, 30, of Lexington, has been arrested following a citywide manhunt Thursday, according to the Lexington Police Department. Pierce was originally detained at the Bryan Station Kroger this morning, under suspicion of being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

However, while he was handcuffed on one wrist, Pierce managed to escape custody and drove off in the allegedly stolen vehicle. He rammed a police cruiser in the process.

The stolen car was located in the 800 block of North Limestone, and Pierce was tracked down some time later. His arrest location is listed as 138 N Limestone. Pierce is charged with:

  • POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY CONVICTED FELON

Pierce was previously arrested in May of this year for fleeing police in a stolen vehicle and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
