AARON’S CATERING

A reclusive Lexington chef tells us exclusively he will once again be offering his famous box lunches this year. IYKYK. Coming Fall 2023.

ANOTHER BROKEN EGG 

Breakfast chain scouting for franchisees to open up to three locations in Lexington. Coming soon.

CLUCKERS

Indiana-based chicken restaurant opening a location in Versailles at 480 Lexington Rd. Coming January 2023.

CRUMBL COOKIES

Fancy cookie chain coming to Brannon Crossing and to Richmond. Brannon already open, Richmond coming 2023.

DESPERADOS

Scratch taco joint coming to the Pepper Distillery campus in spring/summer in the spot where Middle Fork Kitchen Bar was previously located. Coming 2023.

DUTCH BROS. COFFEE 

Drive-thru coffee spot that’s based in Oregon big in Louisville. Opening at 234 E. New Circle Rd. by December 2023, with a second one planned for the old Arby’s at 507 S. Upper across from UK by December 2024.

Opened in December at 144 Rojay Dr. near Fayette Mall. 

FAR OUT ESPRESSO

Far Out’s story is just about as unique as their name, having started from a converted horse trailer painted a colorful, sunset orange and calling a Georgetown Kroger parking lot their happy home, to now occupying a space that would hold FAR more horses, and even includes a cozy game room and side patio. As you can see from the photos, they wasted NO time at all putting their relaxing, inviting vibe and chill personality into their new home. With the toasty fireplace crackling, a well-loved sofa with a butt dip to settle into and read a book, as well as a dart board and chess board- they might give Charlie Brown’s some competition in the “Cool Uncle’s Living Room Who Smokes Weed And Has A Philosophy Degree” atmosphere department. FRESHIE’S ICE CREAM & SODA FOUNTAIN 

The Hartland ice cream shop is opening a second larger location in South Elkhorn Village at 4379 Old Harrodsburg in 2023.

JACK BROWN’S BURGER JOINT

MAIN EVENT ENTERTAINMENT 

Located in South Park shopping Center near Nicholasville Rd. and New Circle at 240 Canary Rd., early 2023. 

MAPLE STREET BISCUIT CO. 

Opening its first Lexington location at 2270 Nicholasville Rd. in “early 2023.”

PAR 6 SOCIAL 

A new bar at Fayette Mall (just what we need) will have three Topgolf Swing Suites. 

PUBLIX

Publix’s first Lexington area store at the corner of Harrodsburg Road and Man O’ War Boulevard will have a 55,701-square-foot store with an additional 3,200-square-foot liquor store.

Following our exclusive reporting on the other new Publix coming to the corner of Georgetown and Citation Boulevard, the Hearld Leader has initiated a new rumor that Publix will announce the other location when they break ground at Palomar. Expect both in 2024.

RAMSEY’S DINER

New Ramsey’s, who dis? 2751 Leestown Rd. This one will have a freaking drive-thru. Opening Spring 2023.

SCOOTER’S COFFEE 

1988 Bypass Rd. in Winchester. Just opened last month.

SLIM CHICKENS 

First Lexington location at 525 Waller Ave. across from St. Joseph Hospital. Coming Spring 2023.

TACO JOHN’S 

Coming to Brannon Crossing with additional Lexington area locations expected. Early 2023.

Coming to downtown Versailles, 108 Court St., in spring 2023.
