Scoop: LPD reports an infant was shot on Christmas Eve in Lexington

Lexington, Ky.–The Lexington Police Department is reporting that a one-year-old girl was shot on December 24, 2022 in the 2900 block of Blairdon Cir., a complex of townhomes near the intersection of Liberty Rd. and Mickey Ln.
“The Lexington Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place in the morning on December 24, 2022. At around 10:45 a.m., officers were called to a local hospital for a 1-year-old who had been shot. The victim suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries,” LPD Public Information Officer Guy Miller said in an email.
According to recently released LPD crime data, no arrests have been made in the case. The shooting does not appear to have been previously reported in the media.

There were 119 nonfatal shootings in Lexington in 2022, compared to 135 in 2021.
