LEXINGTON, Ky. — A Fayette County man already facing a slate of state drug-trafficking and fleeing charges was indicted Thursday in federal court on a single count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
A federal grand jury charged Quavon Megal Winslow, 29, with knowingly possessing a Glock 19x 9mm pistol on June 28, 2021, despite having prior felony convictions that barred him from having a gun. According to the three-page indictment filed in U.S. District Court in Lexington, prosecutors say the handgun — a model 19x pistol — had traveled in interstate commerce, making the possession a federal crime.
If convicted, Winslow faces up to 15 years in federal prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and three years of supervised release. The indictment also seeks forfeiture of the Glock and any associated ammunition.
The firearm allegation arrives as Winslow is already entangled in several state cases across Fayette and Jessamine counties — including a major August arrest that police said capped a six-month narcotics investigation.
On Aug. 19, members of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and Nicholasville Police moved in on Winslow after he allegedly fled officers during a traffic stop in Lexington. Police reported seizing 1.74 kilograms of fentanyl, one kilogram of methamphetamine, and roughly 24 ounces of ecstasy, along with drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center the same day.
Jail records show he was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree criminal mischief, multiple counts of first-degree trafficking in controlled substances, tampering with physical evidence, and persistent felony offender status, among other traffic-related offenses. His bonds in those cases total more than $110,000.
State court dockets show Winslow has several pending matters:
- 25-CR-01112 (Fayette County) — trafficking-related charges; next pretrial conference Dec. 11, 2025.
- 24-CR-00730 (Fayette County) — earlier felony case; next status hearing Feb. 13, 2026.
- 21-CR-00895 (Fayette County) — older felony case still active; jury trial set for Jan. 26, 2026.
- 25-F-02060 (Fayette District) — felony complaint.
Winslow remains jailed at the Fayette County Detention Center, according to his booking profile.
The federal case — United States v. Winslow, 5:25-cr-00146-KKC-MAS — is assigned to U.S. District Judge Karen K. Caldwell. Assistant U.S. Attorney James Chapman is prosecuting.
A first appearance in federal court has not yet been listed on the public docket.
