Lexington Sporting Club bails on new soccer complex after backlash over location
Lexington Sporting Club released a statement today saying it would not “plan to pursue recreational fields in the Agricultural Rural (RZ) Zone located off Newtown Pike.”
The move comes as an advocacy group prepares to appeal a recent Board of Adjustment decision to grant conditional approval of zoning changes needed for the project to continue.
Anderson Communities, the developer behind the idea, has not issued an update on what this means for the project’s future.
